Who we are and what we do

It's all about independent music, independent art and independent skateboarding...

...because to us, it's all connected. We are musicians, writers, artists, skateboaders, photographers, record collectors and music lovers, movie geeks and graphic designers.

[Yes, print. Like, on real paper. Did you ever try to carry an online magazine around in your bag or take it to the toilet with you?]

It's all about THE feeling. About how it feels to see a band in a dirty sweaty basement with 5 other people, about how you just can't explain the feeling of riding your skateboard on a summer night, why NOTHING ever can compare.

GLW/DRK is for people who can relate.

It's for, about and made by people who feel and know that THE feeling is the best thing in the world, ever. It's all about soul. It's about growing up and sticking to your ideals, and looking damn good while you're at it.

GLW/DRK is for everyone who is still looking for Animal Chin. GLW/DRK is for those who actually go out and try to find music that's new and hot and exciting, instead of being content with what's been spoonfed. GLW/DRK is for you - if you find the design of a skateboard deck just as inspiring as the tricks that are done on it.

GLW/DRK certainly is NOT about following the trends and rules and taking the easy way. There are too many magazines already that trade ad space for good reviews, too many interviews that never go beyond the "how's the tour been so far" basics, too many boring, lifeless, soulless articles about too much boring, lifeless, soulless SHIT.

We are here to stay. Be very afraid.

What others have to say about us

- Ox

"...managed to combine their love for the underground with a professional and high standard for layout, composition and writing."

"I think I read through this in one day or something (Toilet breaks only! Yeah, I shit a lot.) and never got bored." - Bats! Mag

- breitband.at

"If there is something more exciting than a skater boy with an atttitude, it must be a skate magazine with an edge, such as Glow In The Dark Magazine from Vienna. Sweet Mister Thomas has a nose for DIY style, so he did the most amazing interview with me - about la fille d’O and why I do shows like I do with hardcore bands like Amen Ra; all of that and much more in this underground/top of the line magazine."

(...) Gerne mehr von diesem Mag. Interessanter Musikgeschmack." - Trust

"The choice of topics is so awesomely great. This zine is a real gem!" - www.yellowisthenewpink.com
