01. What is GLW/DRK? GLW/DRK is an independently published print magazine dedicated to independent music, skateboarding, and art. 02. How often do you publish a new issue? Very, very irregularly. Whenever there is enough money to print a new issue, or whenever there is enough material that deserves to be published. In other words, whenever we feel like it. 03. How do I get in touch?? The mailing address is: GLW/DRK Magazine P.O. Box 65 1110 Wien Austria General inquiry: info@glwdrk.com Questions about advertising: ads@glwdrk.com 04. What is your review policy? At this point in the history of the universe, we are not quite sure whether or not there will ever be a review section in the printed version of GLW/DRK anymore. Ramblings about 65447380 records are pretty pointless in print. There will, however, be a review section online at one point or another. Apart from that, it's simple: you send it, we review it. Please send the full product including all the original artwork and lyrics, and as much information as possible. CD-Rs will be reviewed if they are CD-R only releases or demos, not advance copies. There is more to a record than just the music, and if you don't feel that it's worth the time and effort to send us something that's as close as possible to the final retail product that can be found in stores, then it will not be worth our time and effort to review it, and it goes straight to the trash. Oh, and PLEASE do not send any ska. We hate that shit. 05. Do you accept submissions? Yes. We are always in need of contributors. However, at this point, GLW/DRK is unable to pay you. So if you are looking for a job, you're obviously very wrong. If you are not into it for the money, these are the general guidelines for submissions: - Please do not e-mail any attachments without notice. Chances are your e-mail ends up in our junk folder. - Wanna do an interview? Go for it. We are always looking for a good story. You don't have to interview people in bands or professional skateboarders only. Those are usually the ones who have very little to say anyway. Surprise us. Interviews should have a minimum length of 2.000 words, and should not be much longer than 3.500 words, but these are just rough guidelines. - Yes, we are still looking for people who would like to do music reviews. It just takes a lot of personality, mediocre knowledge about contemporary independent music, and a reason or two to convince us why you - of all people - would be our first choice. - GLW/DRK always accepts photo submissions. Skate photos and band pictures are welcome, and every now and then we are looking for portraits that (a) are not standard press photos, and (b) have not been used anywhere else yet. As a rule of thumb, analog photos are better than digital ones. We accept prints, slides, and scanned images on a disc. Scans should be maximum quality 300 dpi scans (or better), at roughly 20 x 28 cm. 06. How can I subscribe to GLW/DRK? You can't, because we no longer offer subscriptions. Due to various reasons, GLW/DRK is no longer a regular publication (as if it ever was!), so nobody wants to wait 12 months for a new issue. Also, GLW/DRK might turn into a xeroxed one pager one day, or a hardcover book, you never know. So it's just no longer possible to calculate a certain amount that would seem fair. |
